Originally from Philadelphia, and a recent Portland transplant already very active in the PDX music scene, Ross holds a master’s degree in music, has spent 5 years of his life traveling the world as a music director for major production companies and cruise lines, and already has over a decade of teaching private bass and guitar lessons under his belt. Ross has an intense passion for music and teaching.

Live Music | Kathleen Hollingsworth Duo

ortland-based musician, Kathleen Hollingsworth has been performing and writing for most of her life. A childhood steeped in singing led her to study piano and composition and is highly active in the northwest as a choral educator, adjudicator, director and leads the band, Mad Love. She is the recipient of a Downbeat Award and is a commissioned writer for the Portland Jazz Composers Ensemble and the Jazz Educator Network. She is professional vocalist for OCP and Resonance Ensemble and is the Founder/Director of the Music Performance and Technology degree at Clackamas Community College in Portland, OR. She has worked with musical giants such as Danilo Perez, Fareed Haque, Phil Mattson, Martin Bejerano, Terence Blanchard, Rhiannon, Billy Martin and John Medeski.

George Colligan is a New York based pianist, organist,drummer, trumpeter, teacher, and bandleader, who is one of the most original and compelling jazz artists of his generation. An award-winning composer (Chamber Music America/Doris Duke Foundation grant recipient, RACC Grant Winner) and player (winner, Jazzconnect.com Jazz Competition, DownBeat Critics Poll Winner), Colligan is highly in demand as a sideman, having worked with players like Jack DeJohnette, John Scofield, Cassandra Wilson, Ravi Coltrane, and many others, both on the bandstand and in recording sessions (appearing on over 150 CDs).

VV Anniversary Party!

This year marks 6 Years! It always blows my mind on how far we have come and the amazing community that has supported us over the years. We have you to thank, so let’s open some bubbles and celebrate together. Celebrations will be going from 4:00 to Close. No tickets or reservations are required, just show up with your beautiful faces.

Bubbles will be opened! We will have some exciting champagnes by the glass and per usual, a nice assortment of bottles already chilled.

Raffle/Trivia prizes are to be won. This has been a Vino tradition where Manuel and Trevor quiz folks on random trivia for raffle tickets. This will start around 4:30 and prizes will be announced every half hour with the grand finally around 6:45. We have been collecting some amazing prizes we are excited to give out.

Fire up the Grill Olympia Provision Bratwursts will be available on the patio.

Live Music from 7:00-9:30, we are hoping to host this outside as the weather is starting to warm up. Ross Garlow will be playing on the bass.

Andrew Oliver is a pianist from Portland, Oregon, specializing in stride piano, 1920s jazz and blues, ragtime, and tango. His playing is energetic and authentic, drawing on the styles of pianists such as Jelly Roll Morton, James P. Johnson, and Earl Hines to deliver a stomping style which emphasizes the exciting groove that brought jazz to the forefront of popular music in the 20th century.

A specialist in the music of the great New Orleans pioneering pianist and composer Jelly Roll Morton, Andrew has recorded all of Jelly’s known compositions on the “Complete Morton Project” YouTube Channel with clarinetist David Horniblow. Their duo album of Morton’s tunes on Lejazzetal was selected as one of the 10 best jazz albums of 2019 by the Times (London). Andrew lived in London from 2013-2020, performing in the UK and Europe with a number of acclaimed groups including the Dime Notes and Vitality Five.

Andrew is the founder of the Portland Jazz Composers Ensemble, a 2012 Chamber Music America New Jazz Works recipient, and an Oregon Arts Commission fellow. He also performs and composes a wide variety of music ranging from Argentine tango to modern jazz but with a strong focus on 1920s jazz and classic tango styles.

Kerry Politzer & Ben Graves

Kerry Politzer is a Portland-based jazz pianist, composer, and educator. She is on the music faculty of Portland State University and the University of Portland. Kerry received a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Piano from the New England Conservatory of Music, where she studied improvisation and composition with the late jazz guru Charlie Banacos. She continues to be inspired by his teachings and is now working on a Master of Music in Jazz Composition from Rowan University.

Ben Graves was born and raised in Tennessee, close to the musical cities of Nashville and Memphis, where he discovered his love of blues, rock, and jazz. Influenced by Wes Montgomery, Grant Green and John Coltrane at an early age; Ben has developed a style blended with not only jazz elements, but Latin, classical and world music as well.

As an entertainer, Justin has 25 years of experience performing to audiences with my guitar, singing and humor in a multitude of environments. From solo acoustic at wineries, to a packed casino theater with my seven-piece Springsteen tribute Lucky Town. In the studio, Justin has ongoing work as a producer, composer, songwriter and arranger. Credits include work with personality Zane Lamprey on his various shows, Three Sheets, Drinking Made Easy, and Crafts and Crafts.
